2013

We raised $3,047.75 for Akron Children’s Hospital!

A Message from Tribal Fire Troupe Director, Shanrae

It is with deepest heartfelt gratitude that I would like to thank each and every person who made Spirit in Motion 2013 such a success.  The audience this year was the best audience that I have ever experienced at a show.  You were all so supportive, and the positive energy that you sent out could be felt by all of the dancers, it makes more difference than you can even imagine.  Thank you for being there and for supporting our effort to help the children and families at Akron Children’s Hospital.  And to the dancers, there are no words to ever completely express how honored I am to have been able to share the stage with each of you.  You are all dedicated to your art, your hard work and passion shows through in your performance, and you made this show absolutely spectacular!  You were all shining examples of the power, beauty and grace of the feminine spirit.  And Pete Elliott, the new “Voice of Tribal Fire”, how can we ever thank you?  Your energy, enthusiasm and support of the art of belly dance truly made this show one to remember.  You kept the show moving and kept the energy of the audience and the dancers up through the whole evening.  You are a consummate professional, and we are honored that you were willing to step into the role of MC.

And then there’s all the “behind the scenes” people.  Adam Rhodes who stepped in to do sound, you kept the show on track and moving- I think this was the first show with no sound glitches- thank you!  To Julie Seabrook, you work quietly and tirelessly every year to help us with everything from set up, to ticket sales, to managing the silent auction.  Thank you so much for your dedication and support!  Thank you Fraley Memory Productions, you were all so very nice, so very patient with the portrait sessions, and extremely professional, I can’t wait to see the photos and videos!  And of course, Rich Johnstun… how do we ever thank you for all that you do for Tribal Fire.  You are our all around go to guy, always there when we need you, and willing to try to help out in any way that you can.  You always get the job done, and always with a smile, you’re awesome and all of the ladies of Tribal Fire adore you!

We would be remiss if we didn’t thank our friends and families for thier tireless support throughout the year.  You put up with endless hours of hearing the same song over and over again, piles of costuming, hours of practice, constant talk about what the troupe is doing now, and sit through so many shows.  Your support means the world to us, and gives us the confidence to do what we love- Thank you!

And last, but certainly never least, the ladies of Tribal Fire.  I personally could never do this without you.  You have no idea what a relief it is to have people step up and take over parts of the show so that I don’t have to do it all anymore.  If not for that, this show may have stopped years ago as it was just too much to do alone.  And Laura, I am especially in awe of all that you do to help make this show possible, you’re organizational skills astound me!  But beyond that, you all have my gratitude for just being the wonderful, beautiful supportive women that you are.  Your willingness to try anything gives me the confidence to try new things, and to constantly strive to expand our dance horizons, you make me believe that there are no limits to what we can do.  You have supported me in the hardest times of my life, you have made me laugh, you have been there to hold my hand while I cried, you held me together when my whole world was falling apart.  I can never say enough how humbled and honored I am that you have allowed me to be a part of your journey as dancers, I am so proud every time I step on stage with you, and even more so when I get to sit back and watch you spread your wings and dance on your own.  You are the strongest, most beautiful women I know (aside from my mom- you know she always comes first), and you inspire me everyday both as a dancer and as a person.  I am so grateful that this art form that we love so much brought us together.  You are my friends, my sisters, my Tribe.  You mean the world to me, so, thank you for being a part of my life.

With Love and Light, Shanrae
